Week2 - Stair Submission

Below ground: Auto Fabrica

'Extreme in all of its proportions and aesthetics' (Quotation from the product description of Auto Fabrica)

The concept of this stair comes from the word 'emerge' by animating the movement of designers or spectators. The spiral staircase is more space efficient than regular ones and looks aesthetically. The s-shape represents the fluid circulation of motorcycles swerving up on the highway, generating a compositional rhythm as the nature of motorcyclesAdditionally, it combines the idea of spiral and ramp, which allows designers to bring their manufactured motorcycles up and down to the display room. The ramp is particularly designed outward the spiral in order to facilitate the movement of motorcycles.

Above ground: Off-White

'Fashion opens the conversation.'
'Off-White is a playground where I attempt to get the world to understand my ideas.'

-Virgil Abloh, the designer of  Off-White

The concept of this stair comes from the word 'conversation', quoted from Virgil Abloht, the designer of Off-White. This staircase is considered to be the welcoming gesture that allows designers and spectators to either walk through directly or start conversations on the side seating area. The different length of each step gives the sense of floating. As Off-White is a luxury fashion brand, their products can also be displayed elegantly on the two sides of the staircase to attract attention and communicate with their clients. Under another circumstance, the stair can also be the runway which allows models to demonstrate clothing and accessories and then the two side seats can be the audience area. Additionally, the space behind the stair can also be utilised as the storage area.
